Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Principal Giving, the Development Coordinator supports the administrative responsibilities related to the operations, systems, and logistics of the institutional advancement team focused on the College's most significant donors who have the capacity to make gifts of $500K or more to College. The Principal Gifts Development Coordinator ensures effective communication and coordination, anticipating and addressing the functional needs of the team in support of theirs’ and the College’s success.

Academic Advisor

Reporting to the Director, the Academic Advisor’s core focus is to help increase the number of low-income, first-generation students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education, to build persistence in college, and to prepare them for life-long learning. Academic advisors are part of a strong college, academic, and financial counseling team for students and parents. Academic advisors organize college visits and deliver workshops on financial aid, college applications, and peer mentoring activities for students and parents. Central to this role is supporting student outcomes by developing plans to ensure that each student meets college and career-ready benchmarks. The Academic Advisor has to work with the rest of their team and use all available resources to meet grant goals and each student’s academic and longitudinal objectives. |
Grounds Laborer

Reporting to the Grounds Supervisor, the Grounds Laborer performs trash and debris collection, in addition to entry level groundskeeping tasks, supporting the landscape and grounds team as needed. Secretary of the College

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Secretary of the College (“Secretary”) serves both as the corporate secretary of the College and the board secretary. Playing a central role in supporting the Board of Trustees, the incumbent is custodian of board and institutional records and manages records-related compliance obligations with the guidance of General Counsel; and works closely with colleagues in Institutional Advancement to support donor stewardship of trustees and emeritus trustees. The Secretary is the liaison between the Board Chair, the President’s office, senior executive officers and the board members; the focal point for communication with the Board, facilitating the flow of information to and among the trustees, senior management and the College’s constituencies; and confidential staff to a number of board committees. |
Assistant Coach, Softball

This person reports to the Head Coach and is responsible for assisting in the day to day operations of the program, to include, but not limited to: coaching, scheduling, conditioning, contest preparation, scouting, practice planning and execution, fundraising, purchasing and care of equipment, planning and supervision of team travel, and monitoring the personal, academic and athletic development of student athletes in their program. A key area of responsibility will also be to assist in the implementation of the program's recruiting plan to attract student-athletes with strong character and an academic profile that aligns with the mission of Occidental College and Occidental Athletics. Helpdesk Coordinator

The Help Desk Coordinator reports to the Director of User Experience and is part of the User Experience Team alongside staff that support and manages the College’s classrooms and computing environment. This position is the first line of support for Occidental community members for help with technology problems and questions about IT services. The Coordinator projects a professional and friendly attitude; applies an understanding and knowledge of hardware, software, networks, and information technology services to assist internal customers with their computer problems. This position provides assistance through our ticketing service portal and by telephone, email and face-to-face consultation, and is responsible for escalating helpdesk calls to appropriate ITS staff for appropriate services, repairs, training, and follow-up. The Coordinator exercises judgment within defined policies when solving problems, and recommend and create policies and procedures for dealing with new assignments. As part of the User Experience team, this position may also develop and execute online user education and outreach materials.

Under the direction of the Work Center Manager, the Work Center Coordinator performs administrative and technical duties in support of the Work Center. Administrative duties include entering work orders into the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), setting appointments with customers, and scheduling service calls. Searches for and borrows a wide variety of materials requested by Occidental College faculty members, students, and staff.
