Reporting to the Director, the Academic Advisor’s core focus is to help increase the number of low-income, first-generation students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education, to build persistence in college, and to prepare them for life-long learning. Academic advisors are part of a strong college, academic, and financial counseling team for students and parents. Academic advisors organize college visits and deliver workshops on financial aid, college applications, and peer mentoring activities for students and parents. Central to this role is supporting student outcomes by developing plans to ensure that each student meets college and career-ready benchmarks. The Academic Advisor has to work with the rest of their team and use all available resources to meet grant goals and each student’s academic and longitudinal objectives. |
Assistant Director, Employer Engagement & Recruiting - Hameetman Career Center

They stay informed about industry trends, innovate to increase job opportunities, and manage data related to employer interactions. Case Manager (Temporary)

The temporary Case Manager will provide interim support in assisting with the coordination of accommodation and support services for students with disabilities. This position is intended to supplement and support the duties of the current Case Manager. The temporary Case Manager plays a key role in ensuring equal access to the College’s academic programs by helping facilitate appropriate accommodations and offering support to students with a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to medical, psychological, and learning disabilities. Director, Parent and Family Giving

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Individual Giving, the Director of Parent & Family Giving develops the vision and leads the strategy for a comprehensive parent and family fundraising program as part of Occidental’s annual fundraising efforts and in support of the College’s mission. The candidate builds on existing momentum and implements new fundraising strategies focused on increasing philanthropic support from parents and families, including oversight of the Parents Council, the principal parent fundraising body for Oxy Fund support. Additionally, the Director maintains a portfolio of key leadership and major gift rated parent and family donors, conducts discovery visits, and collaborates with colleagues to develop campaigns by mail, phone, and digitally for parent donor constituencies. The Director is assigned and responsible for soliciting and closing annual gifts to the Oxy Fund, as well as major gifts of $100,000 or more, partnering with offices across Occidental to cultivate, solicit and steward current and incoming parents, as well as partner closely with parents of alumni and parent volunteers. Through customized solicitations, events, volunteer outreach, and targeted stewardship, they will serve as a resource for their colleagues on parent giving strategies that will lead to the growth of Oxy’s parent donor base and strengthen the major and principal gift pipelines. Face-to-face visits with prospects and travel are required. |

Reporting to a senior member of the admission team, the Senior Regional Admission Counselor plays a critical role in achieving the college’s enrollment goals by leading strategic recruitment and outreach efforts in a designated geographic region. Based in Northern California, this position is primarily responsible for the Greater Bay Area of San Francisco and surrounding counties. The Senior Regional Admission Counselor manages all aspects of the recruitment and admissions process within the region. Responsibilities include conducting high school visits, attending college fairs, organizing and hosting recruitment events, and building strong relationships with prospective students, families, high school counselors, and community partners. The counselor serves as the primary point of contact for applicants from the region, providing expert guidance throughout the college search and application process. Additionally, this role is responsible for evaluating applications, contributing to the development and execution of strategic recruitment plans, and serving as a key point of contact between the college and regional stakeholders. This position requires extensive travel throughout Northern California, with occasional travel to other areas in the Western U.S. |
