    Reporting to the Director of Collections, Systems, and Services, the Acquisitions Assistant is a casual temporary position that will support the College Library’s purchasing of physical and electronic libraries materials and other items such as office supplies. The Acquisitions Assistant will focus on ordering and receiving library monographs, video, and other resources in physical and electronic format; processing materials for patrons to borrow; routing invoices for review and payment; and assisting other staff with copy cataloging library materials. The Acquisitions Assistant may also participate in special projects such as collection inventory, stack maintenance, and space shifting.

    Reporting to the Director of Collections, Systems, and Services, the User Services Coordinator provides support to students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and plays a key role in the daily operations of the College Library. This position supports a wide range of library services. The User Services Coordinator supports the general operations of the Library’s Information Desk and the Critical Making Studio. Responsibilities include coordinating and supporting the work of User Services Student Assistants and Critical Making Studio Producers, assisting with routine tasks such as circulation, materials retrieval and reshelving, basic technology troubleshooting, and the use of specialized makerspace equipment. The Coordinator will contribute to special projects such as collection inventory, stack maintenance, and space shifting. In addition, the User Services Coordinator monitors the building, reports maintenance concerns to Facilities Management, and communicates any safety or security issues to Campus Safety. This position may require opening or closing the library in the absence of full-time staff or student assistants and ensuring consistent delivery of services during evenings and weekends.

  • Assistant, Temporary Event in Los Angeles

    Reporting to the Associate Director, the temporary Event Assistant works closely with the Alumni and Parent Engagement team assisting with multiple events including Alumni Reunion Weekend and regional events. The incumbent helps maintain event records as well as help prepare, set up, and take down events. The Events Administrative Assistant is responsible for processing event and financial paperwork, tracking and managing event guest and financial data, creating and maintaining event documents and records, communicating with guests proactively and clearly with good customer service, creating and maintaining organized office spaces, office and event supplies, and event records, and helping set up for and clean-up from events. This position has a strong presence in the management of events, all of which have strategic and programmatic plans, which can range from highly active multi-event days/weekends on campus to singular campus events to events across the country. The position partners with campus colleagues and off-campus vendors to support the implementation of event logistics.
