Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Safety, the Clery Compliance Coordinator works collaboratively with various departments across the College to ensure institutional compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy, the Campus Crime Statistics Act, and related federal regulations. The role requires managing highly confidential information with strict adherence to privacy and security standards. The coordinator assists in supporting compliance efforts related to accreditation requirements in coordination with appropriate campus departments. The coordinator also provides administrative support, including overseeing the department’s parking permit program and performing dispatch duties during assigned shifts.
Job Duties
- 25% - Administrative and Clerical Support - Provides administrative support to the Campus Safety Department. Responsibilities include preparing reports, assisting with research and special projects, responding to information requests from students, staff, and the public, and managing department communication channels, including official email and social media. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. - (Essential)
- 20% - Clery Act Compliance Coordination - Coordinates the institution’s Clery Act compliance program. Develops, implements, and maintains Clery-related policies, procedures, and programs. Supports and oversees the preparation and publication of the Annual Security Report (ASR), which outlines campus safety policies, crime statistics, and other relevant information. Collects, analyzes, and reports campus crime statistics in accordance with the Clery Act, including maintaining the daily crime log and ensuring accurate and timely submission of data to the U.S. Department of Education. Monitors compliance with the Clery Act, participate in audits, and coordinate with appropriate staff during state and federal inspections. Serves as a point of contact for Clery Act inquiries and collaborates with campus departments and local law enforcement. - (Essential)
- 20% - Parking Permit Program - Coordinates and supports the management of the department’s parking permit program, including distribution, tracking, and enforcement support. Maintains accurate records and provides customer service related to parking inquiries. - (Essential)
- 15% - Dispatch and Communications - Receives calls for service from students, staff, faculty, and campus visitors. Dispatches Campus Safety personnel using radio communications equipment and ensures timely and accurate communication during routine and emergency situations. - (Essential)
- 10% - Campus Safety Survey Administrator Duties - Serves as the institution’s designated Campus Safety Survey Administrator, collecting and compiling crime and disciplinary referral data from various internal and external sources, including the Office of Student Conduct, local law enforcement agencies, and state agencies. Ensures proper documentation and reporting as defined by the U.S. Department of Education. - (Essential)
- 10% - Campus Security Authority (CSA) - Facilitates, delivers, and tracks required training for all designated Campus Security Authorities (CSAs). Provides training and guidance on Clery Act requirements and related policies. Assists with compliance audits and inspections to ensure proper documentation and adherence to training requirements. - (Essential)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field to position duties or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of experience in campus safety, compliance coordination, or a related administrative role.
- Experience with Clery Act compliance, including crime data collection, reporting, and familiarity with the Annual Security Report process.
- Knowledge of the Clery Act and federal reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google drives/folders/forms, Adobe Acrobat, Web Editing, and social media applications or any combination of productivity programs applicable to position responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough; skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems and handling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy.

- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing and electronically.
- Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced in the ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies.

Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience in campus safety, compliance coordination, or administrative support.
- Familiarity with dispatch operations and emergency communication systems.
- Experience working in a higher education setting and/or in a compliance-related role. Completion of Advanced Clery Act Training.
EXPECTED HIRING RANGE: $52,600/yr to $70,500/yr
If you are offered this position at Occidental College, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and/or geographic location. In addition to those factors, Occidental complies with applicable pay equity laws and considers internal equity among current employees when developing the final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.
