Job Summary
Reporting to Food Service Manager, the Cashier is responsible for handling all ID checks, inter-departmental transactions, and cash payments. They must be proficient in using the Microsoft POS system to accurately charge customers. Additionally, the cashier is expected to restock and rotate front-of-house items, maintain a clean and organized workspace, take orders correctly, and communicate effectively.
Job Duties
- 40% - Charging customers using the POS system, taking all grill and pizza orders, and communicating with the cooks regarding any changes or missing orders. - (Essential)
- 20% - Delivering all completed orders to the cashier and portioning fried items for customers not ordering from designated stations. - (Essential)
- 20% - Receiving and stocking ready-made items such as sushi, ice cream, and yogurt. - (Essential)
- 10% - Opening and closing registers and reconciling their assigned cash box at the end of the shift. - (Essential)
- 5% - Restocking and rotating all condiments, and assisting other facilities as needed. - (Essential)
- % - Assisting other facilities as needed and performing other duties as assigned. - (Essential)
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent. Math skills to accurately reconcile cash and debit sales.
- Six months of cashier, customer experience in a high-volume environment, handling cash and card transactions.
- Ability to speak and read English fluently.
- Demonstrated ability to process food orders in an accurate manner. Ability to process customer transactions quickly and accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Google drives/folders/forms or any combination of productivity programs applicable to position responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough; skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems and handling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Strong commitment to a quality work product.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing and electronically.
- Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced in the ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies. Demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, inclusion & diversity.
- Demonstrated skill in adapting to and performing work effectively in high-volume, high accountability, confidential environment with multiple and changing priorities.
- Effective organizational, logistical, time management and planning skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, prioritize and fulfill the functions of an office in a timely manner.
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently. Ability to provide effective leadership and training, and to work effectively and professionally across functions, disciplines, levels, and with diverse groups.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience cashiering and customer service in a high-volume environment, handling cash and card transactions.
