Job Summary

Reporting to the Service Supervisors & the Associate Director of Campus Dining, the Front of House Assistant restocks food & beverage products and supplies, performs general cleaning duties and provides customer service.

 

Job Duties

  • 50% - Check and restock self-serve areas including coffee, tea, milk and cereal, soda fountain and glass door and open-air merchandisers. Check and restock grab and go snack shelves and display racks. Check and restock condiment stations. Check and restock water dispensers. Ensure food and beverage stations are stocked with clean plates, bowls, cups and take out containers. Ensure cashier areas are stocked with silverware and napkins. - (Essential)
  • 30% - Food and beverage service and storage areas must be clean and orderly at all times. Break down cardboard boxes and discard plastic wrapping as needed. Sweep as necessary to maintain good appearance. Tend to food and beverage spills promptly. Ensure the dining area is neat and orderly, wiping tables as needed and returning condiments to condiment stations. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Provides customer service. Maintain a positive and professional image. Assist customers with questions, problems or requests. Enforces policies and watches for customer theft. Alerts management of any concerns. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Ensures guest staff and equipment safety at all times. Performs all duties in a safe manner. Uses proper equipment and safety signs. Assists in identifying and preventing hazards. - (Essential)

 

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. One year of experience in a busy food service operation/environment. Demonstrated ability to work with speed and efficiency following proper sanitation guidelines, and have basic knowledge of how to use cleaning tools and equipment. Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough; skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems and handling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Strong commitment to a quality work product. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing and electronically. Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced in the ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies. Demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, inclusion & diversity. Demonstrated skill in adapting to and performing work effectively in high-volume, high accountability, confidential environment with multiple and changing priorities. Effective organizational, logistical, time management and planning skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, prioritize and fulfill the functions of an office in a timely manner. Ability to self-motivate and work independently.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of experience in a busy food service operation/environment.

 

EXPECTED HIRING RANGE:  $17.28/hr
